Luxury Villas & Yacht Charters in the British Virgin Islands

British Virgin Islands
How to get to the BVI from the UK
There are no direct flights to the British Virgin Islands from Europe or the USA. All flights connect through another Caribbean airport such as Antigua, St Thomas, Puerto Rico, St Kitts or St Maarten.

If, like me, your vacation starts as soon as you leave home, allow plenty of time between flights or ferries to avoid missing your connection. I have travelled on all of the routes listed below and, if you're located reasonably close to Gatwick or Heathrow, I find the easiest route to be a scheduled flight from the UK (LGW or LHR) to Antigua (ANU) and then a connecting flight from Antigua to Beef Island, Tortola (EIS).
Flights to the BVI United Kingdom to Antigua (ANU)
Direct flight with British Airways and Virgin Atlantic

British Airways
operates a scheduled service daily from LGW

Virgin Atlantic

operates a scheduled service on Tue/Thu/Fri/Sat from LGW (at certain times some flight fly via Barbados)
Flights to the BVI
Antigua to Beef Island, Tortola (EIS)
Connecting flight with LIAT. You can also choose to charter a flight with either Island Birds or Fly BVI.

operates a private charter service

Island Birds
operates a private charter service

Flights to the BVI United Kingdom to Puerto Rico (SJU)
Norweigan Air
operates a scheduled service on Wed and Sat from LGW (commences Nov 4, 2015). Then take a flight from SJU to EIS.
Flights to the BVI Via the USA
Many airlines operate a scheduled service to a US hub. Then take a connecting flight to Puerto Rico (SJU) or St Thomas, USVI (STT).

Flights to the BVI Via Europe
There are a number of options flying via a European city
How to get to the BVI from Europe
  Passport Requirements
European citizens require a valid passport to enter the British Virgin Islands with proof of a return or onward ticket. Visitors from some countries may require a visa - if in doubt please check with your nearest BVI Tourist Board. If you are travelling to the BVI via the United States of America you will need to be in possession of a
machine-readable passport.

Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA)
International travelers who are seeking to travel to/from the British Virgin Islands via the United States under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) are now subject to enhanced security requirements and will be required to pay an administrative fee. Applications can be made online.
ESTA application
Please remember to bring a printout of the authorisation with you.
NB: If you choose to fly into St Thomas, USVI and take the ferry to Tortola from Charlotte Amalie or Red Hook, please be aware that the last ferry leaves at approximately 4:30-5:00pm.
