Villa description
Located on a one-acre plot on the hillside above Long Bay, on the north-west coast of Tortola, Towanda is a well-presented three-bedroom private villa set in beautiful tropical gardens. Discreetly hidden behind tall wooden gates, but at the same time offering far-reaching views of both the ocean and the island's memorable sunsets, this spacious, welcoming home offers a reassuringly private retreat for up to six guests, with plenty of room for everyone to relax, yet it is designed in such a manner that it can be enjoyed just as much by a couple alone. The property consists of essentially three pavilions. The main pavilion houses the living area, with doors opening on two sides to ocean views and cooling trade winds. Adjacent to this is a further covered outdoor living area, with comfortable armchairs and sofas, and beyond that a generously sized pool. A well-equipped kitchen with six-burner gas range is to the rear of the outdoor living area, and this too has an opening to ocean views. A covered verandah with a large wooden table and comfortable chairs is conveniently located adjacent to the kitchen for alfresco dining, and this area also features a gas-fired Weber grill. The second pavilion, at the far side of the property, offers one king bedroom on the lower level - this can be converted into two singles if required - with a queen bedroom immediately above it. Both of these bedrooms have full en suite facilities, and plenty of storage space. A third en suite queen bedroom is situated on the upper level of the third pavilion, and overlooks the pool. This bedroom also benefits from an outdoor waterfall shower set in natural stone. All bedrooms have their own private balconies, and stunning ocean views as standard. Towanda is decorated throughout with a simple but effective mix of Asian and North African styles and original artwork, and also offers all the modern communications facilities you would expect, including Wi-fi, fax and answering machine, cable TV, CD and DVD players, and a well-stocked library of music and films. There is also a safe for valuables. Ideally located in the sought-after residential area of Belmont, and with views to Jost van Dyke, this beautiful home is within just a short drive of Smuggler's Cove, Long Bay and Apple Bay. |

Trudi's personal opinion Towanda is a versatile and extremely well-presented three-bed villa positioned hillside, and with truly captivating ocean views. It's conveniently located within only a few minutes' drive of the gorgeous beaches at Long Bay and Smuggler's Cove, and also close by is Soper's Hole for shops and restaurants. Built on a one-acre plot, Towanda offers comfortable, easy-going furnishings, and provides a spacious retreat for up to six guests - but its ingenious layout is such that even a couple on their own would feel just as much at home here. I particularly like the openness of the villa, the mix of inside and outside living areas, and the covered dining area next to the pool. It offers plenty of private places for rest and relaxation, too. The en suite bedrooms are located in separate pavilions on the far side of the pool, providing a good deal of privacy for all guests. This peaceful villa is a property in which you can laze around the pool for hours on end, read a book or a magazine in the well-stuffed sofas, or take a soothing nap in the hammock. It's so relaxing, in fact, that you won't want to leave. |

Reviews of Towanda Towanda was perfect! Everything met our expectations and was excellent. This was our second stay at Towanda - we absolutely love the house and the location and it is the fourth time Trudi has helped us at Best of BVI. We've recommended Trudi to our friends interested in vacationing in the BVI and we will continue to ask her help for future vacations to Tortola... our favorite vacation destination! Just wanted to let you know we had such a wonderful time at Towanda. Each time we visit Tortola, we feel more welcome and at home and hence it is all the more difficult and sad to leave. | All villa rental rates are quoted for 7 nights unless otherwise stated and are based on two persons per bedroom.
A minimum of 7 nights is required during high season and 5 nights during low season for the majority of villas. A 10-14 night minimum is required during Christmas/New Year depending on the villa. The weekly villa rental rates listed do not include 7% Government Tax. Information about specific villa rentals listed on this website is subject to change at any time. |
