Villa description
Little Thatch is a 54-acre, privately owned, island just a few minutes by boat from Soper's Hole at the West End of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands. The island was made habitable by its English owners a few years ago, and is now one of the most idyllic venues in the Caribbean. Treat yourself to a castaway vacation, far away from the hectic world of hassle and frantic activity of every day life. It is a unique and breathtakingly beautiful destination – quite simply, what dreams are made of. Situated right on the shore in one of the most perfect locations imaginable, Seagrape Cottage is accessed either from the water's edge on to the dining deck or along a shell-strewn path into a small walled garden - your complete privacy is assured. The cottage is built in typical West-Indian style with gingerbread trim, a large terracotta-tiled veranda to three sides and a private dining deck built out over the turquoise sea with steps leading directly to the beach. The cottage enjoys stunning views across the sparkling ocean to Great Thatch, Jost van Dyke and the most western tip of Tortola. Seagrape Cottage is simply, but very elegantly decorated: terracotta floors overlaid with rugs, comfortable bamboo and rattan furniture, a fully equipped kitchen area, a romantic four-poster bed, and a traditionally styled bathroom with a walk-in tiled shower. The open plan interior with brightly coloured shuttered doors leads out onto the veranda, furnished with tables and chairs, sun-loungers and a king-sized hammock, which enable guests to enjoy full sun or retreat to the shade and enjoy the refreshing sea breezes. There is also a covered cooking area, with a full-sized professional BBQ, grill and cook-top for alfresco meals. Seagrape Cottage is just steps away from the white-sand beach, fringed with coconut palms and sea grapes. The water is so clear you don’t even need a snorkel to view the amazing variety of fish, and the gentle sea breezes ensure that the heat never becomes oppressive. A favourite of world-renowned celebrities and of discerning travellers, Little Thatch is an exclusive beach haven for the very particular traveller seeking seclusion, romance and serenity in a pristine tropical paradise. |

Trudi's personal opinion I can't begin to put into words how special Seagrape Cottage is. Imagine.. your own private villa on a private island within steps of your own pristine beach. Seagrape Cottage is the perfect choice for guests seeking a romantic vacation, whether it be for your honeymoon, to celebrate a special anniversary or to just get away from all the stresses of modern day life. Strolling hand in hand with your loved one along the white sands, watching the glorious sunsets from your verandah, swimming and snorkelling in crystal clear turquoise waters - what more can you ask for? Seagrape Cottage on Little Thatch is heaven on earth! I have absolutely no hesitation whatsoever recommending this little piece of paradise to all those seeking a perfectly wonderful vacation on a private island. Simply idyllic! |

Reviews of Seagrape Cottage Seagrape Cottage was unbelievable. This is the type of vacation that people dream about. This truly was a trip of a lifetime. The staff (Monica/Dawson/Jappa) were very accommodating. Days were spent snorkeling off the private beach, lounging in the hammock, and exploring the island. Evenings were spent preparing dinner on the BBQ, admiring the picturesque sunsets and stargazing. The weather was absolutely perfect - low 80s with a cool breeze. - We would rate the villa 10/10. - The cottage was very clean. - The cottage was fully equipped with all of the necessities - beach towels, sunscreen, drinks, food, seasonings, coffee, etc. - The cottage was very comfortable. It had a lot of charm. We loved the little Caribbean touches. - The facilities were very nice. - There is nothing that we would change about this property. - We would highly recommend renting this property. The owners have done a fabulous job with this property. The Best of BVI staff was a joy to work with. Thanks again for all of your help. It was such a treat to stay at the Seagrape Cottage. It was the perfect way to start our honeymoon. We spent 2 weeks in the BVI. Our time was divided the first week between Seagrape Cottage and Limeberry House, and our second week was spent bareboat chartering a sailboat - and Seagrape Cottage was by far the highlight of our trip. We will definitely return the the BVI. We would love to be able to stay in Seagrape Cottage again, and have discussed sending our parents there as a gift to them for all that they have done for us over the years. |

| All villa rental rates are quoted for 7 nights unless otherwise stated and are based on two persons per bedroom.
A minimum of 7 nights is required during high season and 5 nights during low season for the majority of villas. A 10-14 night minimum is required during Christmas/New Year depending on the villa. The weekly villa rental rates listed do not include 7% Government Tax. Information about specific villa rentals listed on this website is subject to change at any time. |
