Lemon Grass is a tastefully decorated, beautifully presented and very comfortably furnished two-level villa on the east side of Cane Garden Bay. It's ideally positioned for some lovely views of the bay and, from the main living area on the upper level, of the outlying islands of Jost van Dyke and St Thomas. Facing west also means that it enjoys traditionally stunning Caribbean sunsets. Not being overlooked by any other property makes it a very private place, too, and yet it's less than an easy 10-minute walk to the beach, bars, restaurants and shops at Cane Garden Bay.

A sweeping driveway leads to an ample flat parking area and the villa's main entrance, which is decorated with attractive tropical plants in classic terra cotta pots. The front door opens to an open-plan living area and kitchen, and an alfresco dining area on the verandah, which spans the width of the property. Also on this main level is the master bedroom with its own en suite bathroom.

Bright and colourful, but at the same time extraordinarily restful, the living area has plenty of comfortably cushioned sofas and chairs for family and friends to relax in at any time of the day or evening, and like the rest of the villa has a smooth and attractive stone-tiled floor. The adjacent verandah is once again furnished with comfortable cushioned chairs, and being on the seaward side of the villa benefits from both the wonderful views and the cooling breezes coming in from the ocean.

The well-equipped nearby kitchen area has a simple and typically modern Caribbean style, and is defined from the main living area by an island counter with a quick and convenient gas hob. This layout has the obvious benefit that those doing the cooking don't have to be shut away from the rest of the group, and so miss out on all the fun. A large wooden table and chairs conveniently positioned close to the kitchen on the covered verandah will comfortably seat up to six guests. Also on the main level is the king-size master bedroom/bathroom suite. Stylish and spacious, this has a high, vaulted ceiling, and like the rest of the property is tastefully decorated to a high standard. Like all the bedrooms in Lemon Grass, it's fully air-conditioned for maximum comfort during the hottest part of the summer. French doors open from the bedroom to the main ocean-facing covered verandah, furnished with cushioned chairs and an occasional table, making this an ideal spot for reading, relaxing or an afternoon nap.

Access to the lower level at Lemon Grass, which contains the two guest bedroom/bathroom suites, is via a short flight of covered stairs. This staircase also leads down to the private pool and sundeck area. Both lower suites, with king-size beds, air-conditioning, and their own private bathroom facilities, are similar in size. The private pool and the sundeck are generously sized, with the sundeck bordered by mature palms and other tropical plants. Comfortably cushioned loungers and rattan chairs are positioned in the shaded area to the rear of the pool, and this makes a lovely area for relaxing and reading. There is also a freshwater outdoor shower at the far end of the villa - good for rinsing off after a trip to the beach.
