| Overview When I first travelled to the British Virgin Islands (over 15 years ago) the first beach I visited was Brewer's Bay on Tortola. It had the wow! factor then and still does - it is one of my favourites. The steep road to Brewer's Bay may be a little scary for some but drive slowly and carefully and you won't regret it. There is plenty of shade under palm trees and seagrapes or enjoy a stroll along the sweeping white-sands. Tortola's only campground is located at Brewer's Bay, well hidden amongst the palm trees. I've never really known Brewer's Bay to get crowded although it can be popular on weekends and public holidays. |

| Swimming The swimming is excellent, although be aware of possible undertows if the surf is up. The snorkelling by the rocks on the west side of the bay is probably the best off of any beach on Tortola. |

| Additional information Ruins of sugar plantations and distilleries can be seen from the road leading out of Brewer's Bay (east). |
