Villa description
Serendipity is a quiet, secluded vacation villa nestled on its own private beach in North Sound's Leverick Bay on the unique and peaceful island of Virgin Gorda. Access to the villa is down a natural stone walkway through a beautiful tropical garden at the water's edge of the North Sound. Offering spacious accommodation for up to 6 guests, the glass-walled Great Room with cathedral ceiling has separate areas for living, dining and a fully-equipped kitchen with centre island bar and offers dramatic 270-degree unobstructed views of the turquoise waters and its passing sailboats. Large sliding patio doors from the Great Room open to a wrap-around deck which provides multiple possibilities for dining, sunning, reading and relaxing as well as enjoying the night sky, with its stars and moon reflecting a path across the water. The constant cooling tradewinds are controlled by louvered windows, sliding patio doors and ceiling fans. The en suite master bedroom is located to one side of the Great Room with a private verandah and ocean views beyond. Two further bedrooms are located to the rear of the villa; these two bedrooms share a bathroom with tub and overhead shower. The villa's infinity edge pool provides an alternative to the private beach for a cooling swim. The pool's natural stone patio is furnished with sun loungers for tanning and night time stargazing. Exterior steps from the wrap-around deck lead down to a large sheltered beach front patio complete with a stone BBQ. This is an ideal spot from which to watch the glorious sunsets and the evening show of pelicans diving for their dinner. A private dock outfitted with whips and a ladder is ready for a motor boat or day sailer. The private beach abuts the patio and is flanked by a large rock outcropping on which sunning iguanas at times can be seen. Excellent snorkeling can be experienced right off the beach, offering viewing of brilliantly coloured tropical fish, coral, conch, lobster and the occasional sea turtles. |

Trudi's personal opinion Located at the end of a cul-de-sac, Serendipity is an ideal choice for couples and families alike seeking an affordable villa vacation and especially perfect for families with young children, as all bedrooms are located within the same pavilion. The views from the villa are unsurpassed - panoramic ocean views of the North Sound dotted with outlying islands of Saba Rock, Prickly Pear and Mosquito Island. I especially liked Serendipity's private beach where good snorkeling right off the shore can be enjoyed. The villa is conveniently located within 3 mins' walk of Leverick Bay Resort and Marina with its large fresh water pool, boat rentals, water sports, tennis, beach front bar and restaurant, market and shops. A fun and affordable villa. |

Reviews of Serendipity Having sailed into Virgin Gorda on several occasions, I was hesitant to be land bound. However once we were there my son put it best, "It feels like we are on the bow of a ship". Between the trade winds, the sound of water lapping at "our" shore and panoramic views from all rooms, my fears were put to rest immediately. The photos can't capture the constant breeze from the trade winds or the sounds from the local song birds. The villa itself was large and casually comfortable with all the kitchen facilities to please the chef (my wife). On lazy mornings the kids spent time snorkeling from the beach, reading by the pool or chasing lizards. We never felt compelled to leave, but when we did there was shopping and restaurants within a short walk. The Friday night barbeque and Moko Jumbies show at Leverick Bay was a real crowd pleaser. We only rented a car for a couple of days to go to the Baths (a must) twice and to tour the island. Traffic consisted of a herd of goats and flock of chickens. The rest of the time we leveraged the local ferry to Saba Rock, the Bitter End Yacht Club and the Fat Virgin Cafe (our vote for best local flavor). Otherwise, we simply stayed by the pool drinking Carib's and working on our tans. "Island time" has a whole new meaning for us. The booking process with Best of BVI was painless. Trudi was patient and thorough, particularly regarding the multiple options on getting to the island. The response was consistent and timely. RE, Aug 2011 Read more reviews of Serendipity... |
