Built on the hillside some 250 feet above Leverick Bay Resort and its popular marina, tennis courts, restaurants and bars, Mikaya is an attractive and well-equipped three-bedroom property ideal for both families and groups of friends alike. The beaches at Leverick Bay and Little Leverick Bay are less than five minutes' drive down the hill. The villa is ideally placed to benefit from cooling tradewinds and is surrounded by an abundance of mature tropical plants, ensuring guests' privacy at all times.
Mikaya is reached via a flight of natural-stone steps down from the parking area just a few yards above the property. On the main level is the highly impressive Great Room, a welcoming open-plan space consisting of living, kitchen and formal dining areas, and with two of the three bedroom/bathroom suites conveniently positioned either side. The spacious living area, with a high and attractive vaulted ceiling, offers comfortable seating on wicker-framed and rattan-cushioned sofas and chairs. Sliding doors lead out to a covered verandah with seating and a hammock, and also give fantastic views of the North Sound, a popular area for some of the beautiful ocean-going yachts that routinely ply these exquisite turquoise waters.
The adjacent kitchen area allows those doing the cooking to easily interact with the rest of the party, and so to share the fun, but is at the same time well defined from the living area by a natural-stone breakfast bar with counter stools. The kitchen is equipped with all of the usual appliances you would expect, and a separate door leads out to a convenient barbecue area. The formal dining area comfortably seats six, and there is also an alfresco dining area out on the nearby verandah.
Located to one side of the Great Room, the master suite has a king-size bed, and its own private bathroom with a walk-in, glass-block shower. This bedroom also has a convenient writing desk, sliding doors to a moderately private verandah with seating, and once again offers fantastic views of the ocean. The bedroom's high, vaulted ceiling helps to keep the air flowing through it, and the room reasonably cool, but there is also an air-conditioning system.
A second bedroom on the main level, again with a vaulted ceiling and air-conditioning, is situated over on the other side of the Great Room, thereby helping to maintain all occupants' privacy. Given prior notice this twin-bedded suite can be made up as a second king bedroom if necessary. Like the master bedroom, this room has an en suite bathroom with a walk-in, glass-block shower, and a sliding door to the verandah that spans the width of the villas's upper level. Access to Mikaya's lower level, which houses both the third bedroom and the pool, sundeck and hot tub, is via a short flight of exterior steps located to one side of the villa. This third bedroom, conveniently situated just a few yards from the pool, has twin beds and an en suite bathroom. This room also has sliding doors to the poolside and sundeck areas. The pool itself is generously proportioned, and the hot tub will accommodate several adults. The sundeck is equipped with plenty of comfortable loungers. Additionally all of Mikaya's guests are welcome to enjoy the many resort facilities offered at Leverick Bay Resort and Marina, just five minutes' drive from the villa. |
